Extended exposure, or long exposure, photography can yield some amazing visuals graphic designs can take advantage of for postcard, brochure, poster, and other designs. In fact, sometimes extended exposure photography can be the entire design itself – you don’t need to add your own bells and whistles when you can shoot an amazing photograph. Extended exposure photographers are capable of capturing a plethora of phenomenal effects, as evidenced by the following seven incredible extended exposure photographs.
Ever wonder what fireworks would look like if they never fizzled out during their return to earth? Now you know!
Would you still ride this amusement park beast if you knew you would be reduced to a series of pixels? Makes me wonder if it isn’t some sort of cosmic collider.
Captains certainly missed safe passage to the shore if their guiding lights looked like this.
A chilling light mist recedes from Capetown in this extended exposure photograph of nature.
I love the long exposure effect of running water, which I think lends this photo an animated, cartoonish appearance.
With all their constant movement and emissions, perhaps smokes are the perfect mediam for extended exposure photograph. They look to me like white ghostly wisps.
Watching car goes go by has suddenly become much more fun – and pretty!

Beautiful long exposure photographs
Thanks Alex! I checked out your portfolio – great work! I especially liked your shots of Mortimer Bay and Howden, Tasmania. Any chance I could use a couple of those in one of my future posts? Keep up the great work!
