You see, gift certificates are not just for retailers. They’re a great tool graphic designers and other service-oriented entrepreneurs can leverage to thank clients and drum up more business.
Try giving clients gift certificates for a discount off of a service they haven’t purchased from you before. A graphic designer who created business cards for a company could offer $100 off a complete corporate identity package, for instance.
Especially for graphic designers, you have the additional benefit of being able to remind your clients how good you are through your gift certificate designs. The potential for sales here is twofold, since you can also pitch similar gift certificates to other service-oriented businesses (you’ll be doing the design, of course).
