Whether you’re in it for inspiration or a chance to win some well-deserved recognition and cold hard cash, no graphic designer should pass up the opportunity to enter some great graphic design competitions (or at least browse the winners and entries). We’ve taken a look at some of these before; here are ten more graphic design competitions you should check out.
Project Never – Who says losers can’t be winners? Seriously, Project Never brings to light many of the amazing designs that never make it to market. Often, the best designs aren’t noticed by the other competitions because they aren’t use – for reasons that have nothing to do with the design at all.
American Design Awards – Several contests throughout the year; some with little to no entry fees. The competitions are well-publicized, so you can get noticed here.
American InHouse Design Awards – Do you handle design in-house? This is the graphic design award competition for you.
DesignFirms Awards – Two different awards over a half-decade running – one for web, one for graphic design.
AIGA Annual Design Competitions – Many categories to enter, many categories to win, and backed by nine decades of experience. An excellent avenue for introducing your talent to the world.
Society for Environmental Graphic Design Awards – If you’re an expert in environmental graphic design, don’t pass up this competition.
Good Design Awards – Since 1996, the Chicago Athenaeum has been rewarding superb industrial and graphic designers through this competition.
Studio Smackdown – An pleasantly unique approach to graphic design competition. It’s like Reality TV for graphic designers!
Graphic Competitions – An excellent resource for many more graphic design competitions. Listings include deadlines and first prize awards.
