jokerWhat comes to mind when you think of shameless marketing? Do you conjure images of imitation Rolex salesmen or bizarre publicity stunts? If so, you’re right — these are ways to shamelessly market, but they are on the extreme end of the spectrum when it comes to shameless marketing.

Shameless marketing isn’t exclusive to scam artists by any means — the most trusted companies in the world practice shameless marketing tactics. Shameless marketing simply means promoting yourself unabashedly. You contend that you are the best company to provide a product or service, and you’re not afraid to say it. Isn’t that what every advertisement every created is trying to do?

Shameless marketing is more than confidence — it’s a willingness to push the competition to the edge, to be a bully in your market. That doesn’t mean you bully your customers, but if you’re a marketer it is your job to beat the competition by any (ethical) means available.

You can be the best, but nobody will care if they don’t know. Shameless marketing leads to success. Hold the publicity stunts.
