3 Tips for Holiday Greeting Cards That Sell

Greeting cards are among the best marketing tools you can employ during the holiday season.  Greeting cards are welcomed by your customer base; they are opened, read and often saved for the duration of the season.  Greeting cards are more personal, and can be targeted specifically to demographics that celebrate specific holidays, such as Christmas and Hanukkah.  Greeting cards are also affordable to print and mail.  Though greeting card marketing cam be a lucrative endeavor for any business, simply sending greeting cards won’t maximize your profit potential.  To do that, try the following three tips for holiday greeting cards that sell.

1.  Personalize your greeting cards

Personalize your greeting cards as much as possible.  Hand-write notes to specific customers, write their names and addresses on the envelopes, and sign your name in ink.  If you’re mailing hundreds or even thousands of greeting cards, doing the work yourself might not be an option.  In that case, at least use a handwriting font for your address label and signature to make your greeting cards appear more personal.  Greeting cards that have personal appeal are held in higher regard, fostering brand reputation and increased sales. 2.  Design custom holiday greeting cards

3.  Present your offer as a gift

If you want to thank customers for their business and worry that promoting a time-limited offer will cheapen your sentiment, position your offer as a gift.  Instead of saying “Buy Widget XYZ Now for 50% Off,” say something like “Thank you for your business.  We sincerely appreciate that you choose us for your widgets.  In appreciation, our gift to you is 50% Off Widget XYZ.”  Make your gift sincere, valuable and time-limited, and you will generate an excellent response rate (provided you have a well-targeted mailing list!).
