10 Awesome Groundhog Day Designs

February 5, 2012

What do Punxsutawney Phil, Buckeye Chuck, Dunkirk Dave, and Woodstock Willie have in common? They are collectively responsible for disappointing hundreds of thousands of children every February 2nd. Yes, these are the names of some of the most famous groundhogs in the United States, and despite what recent history dictates I don't remember a single year in my youth when the groundhog – whichever groundhog my fellow students were hanging their homes on that day – did not see his shadow. Why couldn't we get a groundhog named Blind Barry? Seems that would have been the only way to get out of six more weeks of our less-than-mild Ohio winters. In any event, the groundhogs certainly don't agree by geography; in 2012, Phil saw his shadow but Chuck, Dave, and Willie did not. These kids today have it so easy. But whether you're doomed to six more weeks of winter or free to frolic in an early spring, whether you or your children are ardent observants of Groundhog Day or you just like the Bill Murray by the same name, I think you'll enjoy the following 10 awesome Groundhog Day designs. Groundhog Day by Montygog If you've never seen the movie “Groundhog Day,” many consider it a must-see; evidenced by all the artwork derived from the flick I found for this post.
