6 Slick September Invitations

October 2, 2011

While September might not be well known as a month full of events and celebrations, graphic designers the world over know that the human party machine doesn't slow down just because the weather begins to turn. September isn't July or December, but it does hold its own when it comes to special celebrations, concerts, and holidays. In that spirit, I give you six slick September invitation designs for a month's worth of fun and graphic design inspiration! Labor Day invitation This invitation doesn't specifically say “Labor Day,” but I think it would make an excellent invitation for the holiday of workers' rest. It invites the recipient to a barbecue, a traditional family activity on the holiday, and uses simple, almost retro, silhouettes as its core design elements. Concert invitation Touring artists are easy to find during September, when the weather is a bit cooler and night comes sooner. This invitation for a concert is remarkable because it captures the mood of an early September night, complete with a purple-hued atmospheric backdrop. Grandparents Day invitation Grandparents Day is the first Sunday after Labor Day, and many excited children send cards to their grandparents during this holiday week. This Grandparents Day invitation serves as inspiration for a design for adults who want to send cards to grandparents who have a sense of humor. Oktoberfest invitation No. 1 Oktoberfest actually begins in September and lasts two weeks – typically one week in September and one week in October. Oktoberfest invitation No. 2 A simpler, but no less effective, Oktoberfest celebration invitation. September wedding invitation There are many wonderful designs for September wedding invitations, but I chose to showcase this design because it is clean, modern, bold, and rather different from most examples I've seen.
