Custom sticker design in 3 easy steps

I've espoused the virtues of custom sticker design time and again, and I'm not going to stop any time soon. Custom stickers allow you to place any message virtually anywhere in front of any audience – what better marketing vehicle could you ask for?

Despite my efforts, many small businesses are reluctant to print custom stickers. I've come to the conclusion that this is because they don't know how to use custom stickers. They're unsure of everything from the custom sticker design to its ultimate use as a marketing tool.

Thus, here's my mini-guide to custom sticker design in three easy steps.

1.Location – You should first know where you'll place your stickers and what audience will see them. Then, you can create a custom sticker design that captures their imaginations and brands your company and elicits response.

2.Standout design – Look for opportunities to make your message loud and clear: A die-cut sticker, for example, or highly contrasting colors in accordance with your location's background.

3.Quality printing – Few investments are more wasted than those made on cheap stickers with no adhesive staying power. The better your stickers, the more bang for your buck.

Really, that's all you need to know. Seek creative places for your stickers. One of my favorites is the story of the mouthwash company that placed stickers on the ceilings over dentists' chairs. Simple, relevant, powerful: That is sticker marketing.
