Use Adobe Photoshop to create gift cards for your clients and keep them coming back.

Don't let the headline fool you; I'm not giving away gift certificates for Adobe Photoshop. Instead, I'm telling you that you should use Adobe Photoshop to make gift certificates for your clients. You see, gift certificates are not just for retailers. They're a great tool graphic designers and other service-oriented entrepreneurs can leverage to thank clients and drum up more business. Try giving clients gift certificates for a discount off of a service they haven't purchased from you before. A graphic designer who created business cards for a company could offer $100 off a complete corporate identity package, for instance. Especially for graphic designers, you have the additional benefit of being able to remind your clients how good you are through your gift certificate designs. The potential for sales here is twofold, since  you can also pitch similar gift certificates to other service-oriented businesses (you'll be doing the design, of course). You don't have to wander far to be innovative.  That's smart marketing. How do you keep clients coming back?

Pete, what is most interesting is that many businesses don't realize the many opportunities to attract repeat business. Even ad agencies miss opportunities to market themselves. It's kind of like the cleaning professional who doesn't keep their own home clean - by the time they've worked on their clients' homes, they're too dogged to clean their own. To grow, it is imperative that you retain customers. As the saying goes, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush...
