When I walk down any given supermarket aisle, I feel as though 70 percent of the product labels and packaging designs are nearly the same: similar fonts, colors and even graphics. I don’t know it that’s because marketers figured out that yellow and red sells bread, or if it’s what customers expect, or if that’s the way it’s always been done. I can’t argue with the success of big brands, but I can call their designs out for what they are: boring and uninspired. Now, for the other 30 percent: smaller, niche-based specialty companies tend to take more creative liberty with their label and packaging designs. These are the designs I most appreciate. They’re unique, and they have a purpose: to brand their companies and connect with their customers. From that 30 percent, I present 30 new product label and packaging designs for your inspiration.
