Help yourself: Networking with other artists online

August 19, 2009

fred_shaking_hands_picNo one is an island. Anyone who has ever become successful has had help from someone along the way.

Sharing one’s experiences with fellow artists (like we’re doing right now) is not only a great way to keep one’s finger to the pulse of the art community, but also to help the next great artist get on his or her feet.

There are many online communities that allow you to view other artists’ work, join discussion groups, learn valuable market information and view art-based job postings among other services. These resources are often free and can give great insight into issues that deal directly with artists.

Do you have any online communities you like to visit?
