Market Your Business With Stickers

Stickers are a fun promotional tool. You can make the design on a sticker a bit more bold and whimsical than on a flyer or a poster. Stickers are also usually smaller than a lot of printed marketing materials, so you rely more on image and less on text. They’re the perfect place for graphic designers to show off their creative skills.

Here are some ideas for promoting your company with stickers: Make bumper stickers. They’re larger than your average sticker, so you have more space to print your message. But be sure it’s legible from the view of the car behind it – you don’t want to cause an accident with your sticker! Print a lot. Order a big ol’ bunch of stickers and hand them out like crazy. People love posting stickers in random places, and a well-designed sticker will stay inside viewers’ minds until they look up your website or logo. Stickers are an inexpensive way to conduct a viral marketing campaign, since your fans will do a lot of the legwork for you. Try unique placement. I’ve seen a number of stop signs that people have added this sticker to. Yes, now the sign reads, “Stop – Hammertime.” While I’m not encouraging people to deface government property, it does spark the advertising possibilities that stickers bring. When printing your stickers, keep a few things in mind. One is to make your stickers stand out by choosing a unique die-cut shape – say, a sticker in the shape of a bone for a pet shop. Also be aware of the different types of paper and where your sticker will be displayed. Perhaps choose vinyl or clear polyester with UV coating if they’re likely to be stuck on windows or cars. Also, don’t think that stickers can’t be environmentally friendly – be green by ensuring your printer uses soy-based inks that use fewer volatile organic compounds (VOCs) than traditional, petroleum-based inks.

Thanks for the good information here also is a few thoughts of bumper stickers effective use.

Decal, bumper stickers whether pressure sensitive or magnetic is an excellent and cost effective advertising tool. The cost per unit is very low compared to the number of people who see your decal on an automobile.

In the 1960’s through the early 1980’s STP success was large contributed to a bumper sticker program. The bumper sticker program was one of the segments of the circle of advertising beginning with media ad’s, bill boards, store banners, in store POP (Point of Purchase) displays.

The STP bumper sticker in those days was so ubiquitous, it help to create a critical mass of advertising, that when someone thought of a fuel treatment STP was the product name that came to mind.

The lowly decal or bumper sticker has helped fuel (no pun intended) many start-up companies’ products or service, it is understandable why they are employed so often.

Brian thank you. I have sold decal, bumper stickers for 30 plus years, decal are a great way to build brand awareness.

The decal used correctly is a powerful tool in the toolbox of a marketing team, because of two factors. The first is the cost of the decalcomania, which is very low; the seconded is the message duration, counted in years not minutes or months. The ubiquitous decal if designed correctly will communicate brand awareness long after broadcast and print media, complete its task, the decal will keep reminding the consumer of your brand as a 24-hour a day silent sales person.
