Hot Off the Press: Chronicle Books

Business cards: They’re not just for networking at stuffy tradeshows anymore. PsPrint customer Chronicle Books found a new way to use business card printing – the independent publisher prints business cards with a book cover design on one side and the title and author information on the other. Chronicle Books distributes the business cards to its authors, who then hand out the cards themselves. It’s a new form of marketing Chronicle Books is trying out because, the San Francisco-based company says, authors are playing a much larger role in promoting their own books these days. Chronicle Books boasts an eclectic variety of genres, from art and design to food and drink to literature to pop culture. So for this week’s edition of “Hot Off the Press,” we decided to devote an entire post to its book cover design and marketing strategy. We’ll be back to our usual format next week, and if you missed last week’s “Hot Off the Press,” click here. If you’d like your recent printing project to be included in a future post, please let us know in the Comments below!
