3 Thanksgiving Marketing Ideas

Even though Christmas decorations started popping up in department stores even before Halloween, that doesn’t mean Thanksgiving should be skipped over. You have just a few weeks to take advantage of Thanksgiving promotional opportunities before your customers get overwhelmed with winter holiday marketing. Here are three easy and inexpensive ideas. 1. Greeting cards. Beat your competitors to the greeting card blitz by sending out Thanksgiving cards. These are different from holiday cards that express goodwill and peace on earth – Thanksgiving greeting cards are more personal, thanking each customer for their continued loyalty to your business. 2. Calendars. The way to ensure you’re on your clients’ minds is to be in their faces every day. You can do that with a printed calendar. Even though many people are switching to online calendars, I’ve noticed that they still keep a wall calendar or two in their homes and at work – there’s nothing like keeping track of the days within eyesight. While most businesses start handing out calendars around Hanukkah and Christmas, you can beat the competition by distributing them around Thanksgiving as a sign of gratitude. 3. Newsletters. Even if you don’t normally send newsletters, Thanksgiving is a good time to start. A newsletter is a way to share the latest that’s going on with your business – new products, sales and expansion plans – and Thanksgiving is an opportunity to state that you’re grateful for the success your customers bring to you. Include a coupon or discount code in the newsletter so you can track the response rate to your newsletter. Who knows – you may have found a new promotion that works for you! What are some other Thanksgiving marketing ideas that have been successful for your business?
