Menus as Marketing Promotions
August 5, 2010
Menu design is fun and allows you to be more creative than a regular brochure. And there are many benefits to giving out a menu-styled self promotion. Read four of the benefits below: 1. Menus can mail Like a double- or tri-folded brochure, menus can be tabbed and mailed out to prospects. Just leave room on one of the outer panels for a mailing address, return address and postage. 2. People hang on to menus People customarily hang on to takeout menus. It's a habit. In every home or office, there's a drawer or a spot where menus stack up. By sending a menu illustrating your design services, there's a good chance your promotion will trigger the menu-hoarding instinct in recipients. 3. A menu makes rates clear A menu means you'll have to show pricing for each service. This might not work for designers who vary their pricing a lot. But, if you do have a rate for most services, such as logos, postcards, e-mails and business cards, then advertise these rates upfront on the menu. In this economy, most businesses are worried about the bottom line, and if prospects see a menu of reasonable design rates, they'll call! 4. Menus advertise ALL of your capabilities There are a lot of hybrid designers out there who do graphic design, but may also do web development, flash design, illustration and even copywriting. By creating a full menu of services, you can show potential customers your range of abilities and increase your value. Now you are not just another graphic designer in the clients eyes, but have additional skills.
Need a new idea for a self-promotion piece? How about a menu of graphic design services?
