OK, so you might want to read my previous blog about music affecting your creativity. I challenged myself to only listen to only classical music from the baroque period in order to help increase my brain function.
I stayed with it for about a week, and I came to a very concrete conclusion: I hate classical music! Although I could feel myself in a slightly better mood and a little bit calmer at first, I often listen to music that I can sing along to. Classical did not provide this outlet for me, which I found strange. Also, after several hours of listening to the music I found that the individual songs sort of ran together, eventually leaving me disinterested in it. So as to not totally discredit my previous blog entry if you’re not into classical music, I would suggest listening to it for about an hour when you first start out your day, then follow it with a soothing or uplifting music choice that you’re interested in. What type of music do you find helps your creativity?
