With the current economy, businesses are looking for less expensive ways to keep their company's name in front of customers. All out print onslaughts are not in the budget for the new year.

Here are three tried-and-true recession proof marketing tools:

E-mail

You need to create high impact newsletters, announcements and sales copy that can be sent electronically to select customers. While this type of campaign can not stand alone, it is an essential tool in a multi-pronged attack.

Surveys

All companies need to know their customers minds and needs. Surveys can help you to understand what makes your customers tick. These can be e-mailed or direct mailed.

Postcards

Every business has a list of customer contacts. Printed, direct-mailed postcards add a personal touch that says you are willing to go the extra mile for them.

None of these strategies will stand alone. They have to be used as part of a multi-pronged campaign. There are other ways to reach your customers. Do you have a certain method of contact that has worked for you in the past?
