Get some bang for your buck. Or should I say a big bang for no bucks? Add streaming video to your website at no charge. You don’t need to know HTML or anything about flash. Here’s what you can do: YouTube.com lets anyone upload movies to their website for free. The movie is hosted on their site, but shows up on your site. Doing this avoids some compatibility issues you may run into if you simply link to the movie file on your host such as what format you need for everyone to be able to view it. It also eliminates the need for your host to run streaming video software. If you don’t know how to use any animating software, you can simply use iMovie to create a slideshow. It’s easy to add special effects to get some movement into your movie. You can also add a stock sound track or a song that is in your iTunes library. When you are done, save it as a .mov file. Open a free account at YouTube.com and upload the file. Next they generate the code that lets you easily paste a link into the website that you are building. See an example of this below. Notice that the beginning and the ending slides were graphics that can be created in any graphics or photo program. You could do this for the whole slideshow if you wanted to. Don’t rule out using video clips. Of course, they are super simple to edit and add with iMovie. Go on. Get your graphics move’n.
