Networking for Freelancers

As a freelancer, it can sometimes feel like you are all alone, slaving away in your home office with little connection to the real world. It is tough to get your client's work done and still find time to search for new business and stay on top of industry trends. The self-employed lifestyle doesn't have to be that way. Joining industry clubs and associations is one way to not only feel more connected to your peers, but also to find jobs, speakers, events and competitions related to your niche or industry. There are all kinds of clubs and associations out there. Many of the national groups also have local or state chapters where you can network with a more tight-knit group of individuals all working in the same state or city.
