I Want My MTV Logos

Since its debut August 1981, MTV has remained the central location for showcasing musicians, artists and all things cutting edge. Not only have musical artists made MTV what it is today, but the contribution that visual artists have brought to the network have been immeasurable. Synonymous with trendy, fun and out-of-the-box thinking, MTV’s brand has hooked entire generations onto the idea of taking risks, thinking creatively and expressing themselves. As we celebrate the anniversary of MTV, let’s also give a hand to the artists that have made MTV successful. Here are some versions of MTV’s popular logo.

Starting with the first day it premiered, I was addicted to MTV. I recognize so many of these logos. Thanks for the cool post, Valerie!

Great post, I grew up in the MTV generation and like so many other things we forget about being young was the energy and creativity that MTV brought to our early adulthood. I too recognized many of these designs and would be remiss if I did not share how I miss the days of creative thinking vs. corporate adulthood and staying in the box.
