The weeklong Kwanzaa celebration begins on Sunday, Dec. 26. Since Kwanzaa is a relatively new holiday – just 44 years old – people have probably heard of it but don’t necessarily know what it entails. Kwanzaa celebrates African-American heritage and unity through candle lighting, food and gift giving. Following are nine examples of Kwanzaa invitations, T-shirts, greeting cards and websites. Notice the use of color and symbols in most of them – after all, it’s smart marketing for graphic designers to have a diverse knowledge of cultures so they can accept all kinds of different freelance assignments.
