Halloween is that rare time of year when marketing can actually be fun. No need for blasé signage or by-the-book newsletters. Halloween allows you to sink your fangs into creative plans that are sure to conjure up more clients.

Think your customers are too old for trick-or-treating? Of course not! Have on hand at your front desk or sales counter a big ol’ bowl of treats. You can be ambitious and wrap up bundles of small candies or simply leave them loose – but be sure to include a promotional sticker advertising your business. Include your contact information and have fun with the design – use these tips to incorporate the holiday into your stickers, whether with pumpkins, black cats or ghouls. Just be sure it’s not something a customer will toss away. Never ordered stickers? Request a free sample kit from PsPrint here. Even the gloomiest ghost likes to be a winner. So hold a contest in which the prize is a service provided by your company. Advertise the contest in your newsletters and make it fun and interactive! Ask a trivia question – something about Halloween lore, perhaps. Or have your contestants come up with the best Halloween joke. Perhaps they can guess how many candy corns are in a jar. And while you’re in a competitive mood, don’t forget to enter PsPrint’s $10,000 Holiday Card Design Contest. Halloween is a time of year when you can really play around with your advertising, especially in print like posters and flyers. Use spooky fonts and creepy effects to make your sign stand out among the drab, everyday stuff. Check out this post for design and marketing ideas for your printed materials. Finally, if you really want to pull out all the stops, host a haunted house. These garner tons of publicity and are a lot of fun to pull off. [...] Despite the success of the movie “Zombietown” – and really, you need to see it – vampires are flitting about everywhere. There are the “True Blood” and “Vampire Diaries” TV shows and, like I mentioned before, the anticipation for “New Moon,” the sequel to “Twilight.” Those series have legions of fans, which is why graphic designers should sharpen their skills and market directly to them.
