Can we have a month dedicated to cable TV? We sure can! But if we’re going to celebrate it, then we have to do it right. TV has been said to turn the minds of Americans to mush, but one thing that I can say about the art community is that we have always been able to turn what people think is negative into a visually positive work. Artist Ian Burns uses televisions in his installations, but not how you would think. Works such as “The End of an Era,” which is a television monitor chandelier, Ian pushes the envelope and uses common devices to create thought-provoking installations. You won’t have any trouble gathering inspiration from these works by this insightful artist.
