“School is back in session.” “The new fall TV season has started.” “I had to actually work at work.” I’ve heard all your excuses, and I forgive you for not reading the PsPrint Blog this week. In fact, I am so forgiving that I’ve composed a list of what you’ve missed this week on the PsPrint Blog: Logo dangers Designing a logo is tricky business. You don’t want to create a logo that’s a cliché, but you also don’t want a logo that’s completely irrelevant to your business. PsPrint blogger Britt shares some helpful logo design tips in her blog post, “Top 4 Logo Pitfalls.” Are you being served? Hot dogs, chicken, ice cream: Hungry, yet? You will be after looking at these delicious restaurant logos in PsPrint blogger Valerie’s blog post, “Food for Thought: 10 Restaurant-themed Logos.” Faster photographer, shoot, shoot High-speed photography offers you a chance to look at something ordinary, such as an exploding water balloon or a splash of milk, in an extraordinary way. PsPrint blogger Brian shares some very cool photographs in his blog post, “10 Amazing High-Speed Photos.” Design ideas: Read all about it Hey, remember magazines? They were like websites and blogs, but they were printed on glossy paper. Ask your parents. Britt thinks graphic designers can learn a lot by reading magazines. Check out her blog post “4 Cool Design Elements from Magazines.” Must see TV Instead of trying to find art on television, Ian Burns makes art out of televisions. Valerie shares some of this artist’s most striking work in her blog post, “As Seen on TV: The Work of Ian Burns.” Scare tactics Yes, it’s still September, but Halloween is just around the corner. Halloween offers graphic designers ample opportunities to pick up some extra work to make some extra dough. Brian lists some fun design-oriented jobs in his blog post, “5 Creepy and Cool Halloween Design Jobs.”
