Now that the New England Patriots and New York Giants are set for Super Bowl XLVI, how are you going to be sure your party is a winner? It takes more than a bowl of chips and a soggy pizza with your team printed on it (Seriously, how does that taste?!). Here are a few tips to make sure your Super Bowl party is more memorable than the game – or even the commercials.
Invitation. Sure, you could send an electronic invite, but haven’t you heard? Ecards are lame. Instead, have fun with a printed invitation. Start some trash-talkin’ about your team’s nemesis. Or entice your non-football-loving friends with the food spread you’ll have at your party. I’m serious about that last one – I chose the Super Bowl party I’m attending because the invitation stated the hosts are getting a keg from a favorite local brewery.
Nametags. A lot of your guests might not know each other, and you’ll be too busy refilling beers or taking side bets to introduce everyone. So why not let a nametag do that task for you? You can print up two batches of stickers – one set with the Patriots logo and one with the Giants. Have each guest choose a nametag with their favored team, and you have a guaranteed ice-breaker right there.
Team banner. Finally, a true sports fan shows off his or her pride. Let people know where the Super Bowl party is by unfurling outside your home a banner with your team logo. It doesn’t even have to be for either of the team’s in this year’s Super Bowl – this is something you can keep for years.
