Hot Off the Press: Arizmendi, Looking Glass Photo and More

Sure, PsPrint is an online printer that serves customers all over the country, but with all the customers who pick up their printing orders through our Will Call departments in Oakland, Calif., the Chicago area and Bethlehem, Pa., we often feel like a small-town company. When I’m out and about in the San Francisco Bay Area, I regularly pick up promotional postcards and sticker handouts, only to return to work and realize these businesses are our customers. This week’s “Hot Off the Press” features several local companies I like and respect:

  • I regularly pop in to worker-owned Arizmendi in Emeryville, Calif., before work for a cheese roll and an Americano – sometimes after work, too, for its pizza of the day.
  • I pass by 1-2-3-4 Go! Records almost every day on my way to work. Despite the rise of digital music, this brick-and-mortar music store lives on.
  • Speaking of brick and mortar, Looking Glass Photo sells cameras and supplies but doles out friendly advice for free – its staff is not only a knowledgeable bunch but talented, too, and is holding a group photography show at PhotoboothSF (another PsPrint customer) for which we printed its promo postcard.

The printing done by our customers always inspires me. Did you see last week’s “Hot Off the Press,” with some absolutely gorgeous design?

I love simple designs that command visual attention - the Molly Mutt and San Marcos Farmer's Market pieces are perfect! I also like the Murphy's Magic postcard - hilarious!
